Meet Alice a 150 year old oak cider press
Our much loved oak cider press ‘Alice’ is looking good and working hard despite being over 150 years old. She was revived and employed by the Kent Cider Co. in 2011 and works alongside our very first press ‘Penelope’ to bring you traditinally pressed, unique apple flavours.
Traditional rack and cloth method
Cider presses like ‘Alice’ have been overlooked since mechanised presses came on the scene but at Kent Cider we favour the traditional rack and cloth method over the modern alternatives. Alice provides us with around 500L of delicious apple juice each press and we hope that she will continue to be in service with us for years to come.
